50 Joined the Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014

Participants of Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014 are trying to become the champion of the third 4x4 Suzuki Challenge Cup organized by Boustead Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB) which kick off at the open area in Tanah Jambu.

The two-day competition was officiated by the Executive Manager of Boustead Sendirian Berhad, Lim Jin Lee. Also in attendance were Suzuki officials from Japan was Assistant Manager Overseas Automobiles Service Group from Suzuki Japan, Mr. Tomonori Akaza.


The co-chairperson of the organizing committee, Hj. Ahmad Bin Haji Abd Razak, in his welcoming remarks said, "The objectives of the cmpetition are to increase interest of 4x4 car competitions and to be a venue for 4x4 cars enthusiasts to compete in."

In addition, he also highlighted that this year's competition was also to raise awareness on the issue of safety whereby all participants must wear seatbelts and helmets.


The two-day competition is divided into two categories namely Open Relay Standard and Open Relay Modified where by a total of 50 participants which comprises of 26 participants for the Standard Category and 24 participants for the Modified Category took part in this competition.

The attractive prizes to be won in the Open Relay Standard category are B$800.00 and 1 set of tyre 33x12.5 R15 Yokohama G001C sponsored by YHI Corporation (B) Sdn Bhd for first place, while first runner up will receive B$500.00 and second runner up will receive B$300.00.

As for the Open Relay Modified category the challenge throphy will go to the winner with B1,500.00 and a Suzuki Challenge Throphy and 1 set tyre 305/70R16 Yokohama G001C also sponsored by YHI Corporation (B) Sdn Bhd while first runner up will receive B$1,000.00 and second runner up will receive B$700.00.
