Lim Jin Wei and Chin Yun Vui Champions of the Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014

The third Suzuki 4x4 Challenge Cup event came to an end yesterday at the Tanah Jambu 4WD track in Muara.

In the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman completed the prize presentation to the winners in the Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014 which was accompanied by the Managing Director of Boustead Sdn Bhd, Dato Lim Beng Thai.

The challenge was organised by Boustead Sendirian Berhad with assistance from the Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB). The two day challenge which began on September 27th and ended on September 28th, with registered Suzuki 4x4 participants taking part in the two categories of the challenge namely, the Open Relay Standard category and the Open Relay Modified Category.

The racing results for the "Open Relay Standard" category with prizes worth B$800.00 cash was won by Yun Chin Vui, second place received B$500.00 by Adi Lufti and third place received B$300.00 won by Patrick Hii Siang Hock.

The next category of "Open Relay Modified", the champion was won by Lim Jin Wei who received a cash prize of B$1,500.00 as well as the Suzuki Challenge Trophy, while second place was won by Chin Yun Vui who received B$1,000.00 and third place was won by Boon Chin Fatt who received B$700.00.

For the first time this year, a four-wheel woman driver named Juwana Binti Alik who joined the ' Open Relay Standard' category and used a Suzuki Vitara. 

During the interview she said, "Although I did not win in that category, but my spirit to participate in this competition has given a great challenge to the other participants."

"This is not the first time I participated in competitions like this, I also participated in other race challenge in neighboring countries to gain experience and learn to drive 4x4 cars with my group of TTK from Kuala Belait," she said.

Koh Eng Chong was the Assistant Driver to Juwana Binti Alik also gave comments that, Juwana drove very well especially now that female drivers are joining the competition at the Suzuki Challenge Cup 2014. He hopes to join another competition in the future and have a category especially for women. 

This event was not only to promote the Suzuki brand to its customers, but also to improve the relationship between Boustead Sdn Bhd as a trader with the Persatuan Gabungan Berwawasan 4x4 Daerah.
