BMW Brunei recently held a Media Launch of the All-New BMW X5 followed by an exclusive dinner and lucky draws held at the BMW Showroom, QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, Beribi.

General Manager of QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, Sivakumar Krishnan in his welcoming speech expressed his appreciation to the local medias who have made various event coverages and activities including the BMW driving experience over the years.

"This year is an exciting year for BMW. Various new models will be introduced to this country, besides the BMW 3 Series model, the BMW 8 Series will also be a major focus after the last model was released in 1993," said Sivakumar Krishnan.

At the event, he also completed the all-new launch of the BMW X5 xDrive40i. This model is a stylishly designed Sports Activitiy Vehicle (SAV) that has more stylishness and has an off-road travel capability with amazing performance regardless of the rough ride with BMW's dynamic characteristics.

This latest generation is produced with the latest design and technology. The BMW X5, also known as 'The Boss', has a 42mm wheelbase range from previous models, 66mm wide and 19mm high, making the X5 model have a much larger capacity and wider space for their drivers, passengers and luggage.

All models come standard with the latest technology such as BMW Live Cockpit Professional, 12.3-inch display, larger head-up display, cooling and heated cup holders, and ambient lighting in the car's interior. The best addition also can accommodate seven passengers with a wide leg room.

What appears to be a significant change in the external aspect is in the form of a kidney-shaped BMW front grille. The all-new BMW X5 also comes with the Adaptive LED Main Light which comes standard. In addition, the Sky Lounge function from the panoramic glass roof - is an option - plays a very special and exclusive role when night falls, with LED light spreading evenly on the surface of the glass to illuminate more than 15,000 graphic patterns and produce a reminiscent view of the stars in the sky.

The third generation X5 is now loaded with 3.0 Liter Twin-Scroll Turbocharger and petrol injection technology that produces 340 horsepower between 5,500 and 6,500 rpm. The BMW X5 xDrive40i is capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

This is a BMW blueprint that launches the SAV category almost 20 years ago. The BMW X5 is the first SAV as the father of the BMW X family model.

More than 2.2 million units of the third generation BMW X5 have been sold worldwide. It is also a market leader in the all-wheel premium segment and still holds to this day.

The all-new BMW X5 will be built at the Spartanburg BMW Plan in South Carolina, USA. The center will be the centerpiece of BMW X models that will also hold the BMW X3, BMW X4 and BMW X6 production and soon BMW X7 will also be included in the schedule.
